New Movies

Some new movies to look forward to! Yay!

Movies - Showing Now & Coming Soon

Opens Tomorrow! Looking forward to this...

Stephenie Meyer's vampire series has already opened!

Alan Moore's Watchmen, a movie adapted from his award winning graphic novel. Let's hope it turns out right, otherwise Alan Moore will flip, as he always does with all the "moronic" (quoted from Alan's words) movie adaptations!

Tom Cruise in Valkyrie, directed by Superman Returns and X-Men director Bryan Singer. I'm sure this will be a nice one, with dark tones as with all his other movies! Based on the actual WW2 Operation: Valkyrie.

Last but not least, Terminator Salvation's latest poster. Christian Bale seems to be in the limelight with The Dark Knight and Terminator. I think he'll make an excellent John Connor. I wonder what other movies are installed for him.

Coming Soon!

Two new movies to look forward to:

Terminator: Salvation (left)
I read that this is going to be a departure from the machine travelling
back into the past to save John Connor storyline.
And better yet, Christian Bale is starring as John Connor. It's going to be a hit, I'm sure!

Quantum of Solace (right)
Whoever said that David Craig was horrible as James Bond need to be shot!
I think he redefined the namesake for James Bond, not just as a spy,
but as a thinking-smart, action-packed MI6 double-O agent!

2 Great-Looking Movies To Look Out For

After the trilogy, they decided that it was such a hit that they wanted to do more. So Steven Spielberg and George Lucas decided to write 1 more for old times sake, with 66 year old Harrison Ford as Indiana Jones again, added characters include Shia LeBeouf as Mutt and Cate Blanchett as an evil spy agent. Fortunately/unfortunately Sean Connery turned down his role as Indian Jones Senior in favour of his retirement.

Jumper is a sci-fi thriller about a young boy who discovers he has the ability to teleport. He uses his ability to get away from his abusive father. Later on in life he realises that he's not the only one with this ability, however, there are "police" who regulate teleporters and it's an eventual showdown between them. Stars Hayden Christensen (Darth Vader), Samuel L. Jackson (Mace Windu) and Jamie Bell (Billy Elliot) with Rachel Bilson (Miss OC). Should be nice to watch Vader and Windu face-off again in another movie setting. I watched the trailer for this movie and it was interestingly entertaining. 2 great-looking movies to look forward to, let's hope they don't disappoint.

Why So Serious?

The latest posters to the next Batman movie - The Dark Knight.

Iron Man 2008

I have to admit, I was never really a fan of Iron Man in Marvel.

He kept changing his armour, and he was another millionaire
playboy with a moustache in an armoured suit. Yawn.
What's more, when I found out that Robert Downey Jr
was playing Iron Man, it was double yawn and yucks!
I preferred Iron Man's nemesis, The Mandarin, with his power rings!
But the poster is nice though, perhaps the movie might
change my perception of the character.
Or not...

Remember Everything, Forgive Nothing

The final installment to the Bourne Trilogy,
The Bourne Ultimatum, starring Matt Damon as Jason Bourne.

I hope it's good because the novels and the movies are very different.
On top of that, this year's movies which are all the final installments of
trilogies haven't been any good, well, except for Ocean's 13.

Their War, Our World

Trailers of the new Transformers movie are flooding
the Internet, especially on youtube.com.
I actually got to see it when watching Pirates Of The Caribbean 3.
Something to look out for since Transformers was the most watched
cartoon during my younger school days.

The Rebellion Begins

I've waited so long for them to come out with another Harry Potter poster,

ever since Lord Voldemort graced the trailer poster, it's about time!
13 July 2007, the rebellion begins!

300 Spartans

I saw numerous trailers of Frank Miller's graphic novel movie adaptation and I must say, I'm really impressed with the costumes and visual effects of the movie, not to mention that it's bloody gory. For once, the visual effects in this movie do the cinematography and the landscaping, which is breath-taking. I've personally read Frank Miller's graphic novel, but the movie takes on a whole new dimension. It's almost like a film noir, think Sin City, the director Zack Synder, captures the essence of colour scheme and angles as shown in the graphic novel.

I still cannot believe that under all that make-up, costume and chains, the King of the Persians, Xerxes, (shown above) is actually actor Rodrigo Santoro of Charlie's Angel 2 fame, not to mention his brief appearance in Love Actually and Lost!

The movie opens on 9 March 2007, let's hope that we get that opening here on the same day! I really can't wait for it!
