Demon

They say the devil manifests himself in all shapes, sizes and all different sorts of people, so why not him? This is a perfect example of manifestation, even if it was for an instant, it was captured on film, proof enough that no one is safe.

iPod Camera Connector

This little gadget is a miracle little electronic! I cannot believe that something so small could solve so many problems digitally. What am I talking about? The iPod Camera Connector (CC) of course!

I've been researching the CC for quite a few months now. The main reason is because my camera, the SONY Cybershot DSC-W1 wasn't on the iPod CC's list of compatible cameras, so I didn't want to rush into something I didn't know would work with my camera. Next, I went online to search around if anybody out there has the same camera I had and prayed that someone could tell me that it was compatible with the CC. Unfortunately, the way my luck goes, I couldn't find a single soul with the same camera I had. There were references to other models of SONY cameras, the T5, W5, but not the W1.

Eventually, I had to bring my iPod Video and my digital camera down to the APPLE store. And the Customer Services people were nice enough to let me try it out (they actually have a trial model for just this purpose). It worked like a charm! All I had to do was to plug in my camera's USB cable to the CC and the CC into the iPod and turn my camera on. There will be a Import function on your iPod that lets you download all your digital photos from the camera into the iPod. After the download, the iPod even gives you the option of erasing your camera's memory card! There's only 1 drawback, it sucks the life out of your iPod battery and you might have to recharge it, depending on how many photos you're transferring.

So, when on vacation, all I need do is take as many photos as I like, get back to the hotel and download everything into the iPod, which acts like a portable harddisk. Another huge advantage is that the iPod converts a small thumbnail of your photo so that you can view it on your iPod under the photo section. This is extremely handy to check out your photographic skills, althought stupid, coz your digital camera has a LCD screen to see that, but that doesn't always tell you a photo is clear, coz of the size: The smaller the size, the less you'll see blur lines.

Another advantage of owning the CC is that it eliminates having to buy all those pesky memory cards. In SONY's case, it's Memory Sticks (Pro), which are very expensive. Now, with the CC, all you need are about 2 or 3 memory sticks and the rest you just download into the iPod.

I've listed down a few compatible cameras below and I will personally update this list from time to time, especially when I get the chance to try the CC out with cameras from friends and relatives.

From the trend so far, I'm guessing that as long as your camera has a wire with a USB connector to plug into the CC, plus that your camera's setup can switch to PTP under USB functions, the CC works.

Please note that I've yet to try out the CC with USB card readers, so you might have to venture elsewhere to find out if the CC works with those.

Cheers everyone!

The Sicks

Majandra Delfino is an actress who is most remembered as Maria, the loyal, sometimes sarcastic and sardonic friend of Shiri Appleby (Liz Parker) in the TV series Roswell.

She made me laugh when watching that series on TV, and now that I own the Complete Roswell DVD set, I laugh out loud again watching reruns of this wonderful actress. I watched her evolve from frustrated friend, keeper of secrets to someone looking for true love with her "alien" boyfriend played by Brendan Fehr. But the most important thing that struck me was her voice. In the first season of Roswell, she sang in a few of the episodes and they were all done by her, no substitute voicing or lip-syncing.

I have only recently found out that in October of 2001, she released an album under the name Majandra entitled The Sicks. I did some research and found that it is no longer available. However, Amazon.com has provided 3 free MP3 downloads of the songs Ski-Ming, Oil+Water and Siren. Her debut CD is inspired by Bjork and Portishead and the music has a dark edge, sound-based electronic music to it. After listening to the 3 songs from the free download, I was hooked, but now, I'm stuck because I can't purchase or find an online site selling a copy of her CD.

If anyone out there reads this post and knows of a place to obtain a new copy of her CD or perhaps, free downloads from the rest of her album, do provide the site address in the Comments Section below, I would be eternally grateful!

Thou Shall Not...

...post a caricature of the mahdi. It's blasphemy! It's sacrilege! For goodness sakes people, it's just a cartoon! How the hell did those people learn how to read Danish anyway? It's just a cartoon, so unless they learnt Danish overnight, they wouldn't understand it outright.

Nowadays, something real as compared to cartoons, comics, satires are regarded as a twist on the actual things in life. Thou shall not make fun of gods, of buddhas, of jesus and whomever deity you can think of. It is bad! <spank, spank>

You have to respect everyone's religion, but being the ultimate bigots, do they respect your religion back? Or do they proclaim that their religion is the ultimate way to heaven and yours is just another way to hell? This is such a touchy subject - religion. It unites and it divides, but more often the latter. Then they start using words like "in an uproar", "incensed", "angry mobs" blah, blah, blah... Do you really think that a god would do all this, just to divide his people? To have 2 religions (or more) they have been fighting over for the past few millennia? I think not.

They should convert to my religion, the religion of the God Emperor, the one that offers them a Golden Path to enlightenment and eternal salvation for themselves. It's not a religion, it's more a way of life, to better themselves and evolve into something more than we truly are. To take the next step in human evolution, not devolution. After all, all deities started off as human beings and evolved into their godhood with time, patience and understand. I would like to believe that it is in our capacity to be able to achieve that too.

So, let them run their riots, hold their mobs, kidnap their foreigners and hold their witch hunts. Barbarians all! No wonder they never evolved and are still at war.

PAH!

P/S: I would suggest doing something, to start all over again, something akin to a second flooding, but it would be too blasphemous. However, if you'd like to know what I mean, pick up and read the book Scarcrow, that I've reviewed in an earlier post, and you'll know exactly what I mean.
